Production has now wrapped on the family feature film RED DOG, produced by cyanfilms' Julie Ryan along with Nelson Woss under the Woss Group Films banner. Meanwhile cyanfilms' Kate Croser is currently in London working in the Film4 development department, as the first recipient of the Screen Australia Film4 Producer Internship scheme grant.

Pre-production has commenced on RED DOG in Adelaide, to be produced by Nelson Woss and cyanfilms' Julie Ryan. RED DOG is the feature film adaptation of Louis de Bernieres' best-selling novel of the same name, and is slated for release in early 2011 by Roadshow.

MY TEHRAN FOR SALE will screen in Official Selection at the 2010 Rotterdam International Film Festival in the Bright Futures section in January. The Rotterdam selection is sure to be the start of another big year on the festival circuit for MY TEHRAN FOR SALE which is also confirmed to screen next year at the Cinema Novo Film Festival in Bruges Belgium, and Febio Fest in Prague Czech Republic.

The team behind MY TEHRAN FOR SALE (Granaz Moussavi, Julie Ryan and Kate Croser) have collected the 2009 IF Independent Spirit Award in recognition of the challenges overcome and the spirit required to produce this “remarkable” feature film shot last year in Iran. MY TEHRAN FOR SALE has been nominated for the 2009 IF Independent Spirit Award ahead of its theatrical release at Adelaide’s Trak Cinema on 19 November 2009. The Independent Spirit Award recognises a team who, despite limited resources and challenging circumstances, have demonstrated the creativity, tenacity and independence of vision required to make a compelling project, and rewards emerging talent who have shown originality in their approach. MY TEHRAN FOR SALE has secured world sales representation ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival, and will have its Asian premiere in Official Selection at the 2009 Pusan International Film Festival.

BROKEN HILL won three awards at the prestigious Giffoni Film Festival on Saturday 25th July. The awards are: Best Film in the category “Generator 13+”; the Special CGS Award (Social-cultural Cineclubs for Young People); and the ARCA “CinemaGovanni” Award.
The Giffoni Film Festival attracts over 2000 young people from over 44 different countries in the world each year. The age of jurors ranges from 3 to 17 and they are placed into four official competitive sections according to their age group. BROKEN HILL was selected for the “Generator 13+” section and was selected and judged by young people of that age.
Australian lead actor and rising star, Luke Arnold, was in attendance at the Festival and was inundated with autograph requests from many of the young Festival goers after the official screening on July 21st.

BROKEN HILL will have its World Premiere in Official Selection at the prestigious Giffoni Experience (In Competition, Generator 13+) on Tuesday 21 July. Giffoni is the largest film festival for kids in Europe and more than 2200 children and teenagers from all over the world will watch the movies, choose the winners and learn about filmmaking.
